Tutorial2 : Create your first Sculptie prim

Get start by delete 3D object in Blender scene.When you have install script successful it’s time to create your first sculpted prim!

1. Run Blender, by default you will see the cube in the center of your 3D screen.

2. Right click on that cube and press X on your keyboard. Blender will pop up “OK? Erase selected Object(s)”

3. Left click on the message to confirm delete. now you have empty 3d workspace in front of you.



Browse Blender menu to Sculpt Mesh4. Make sure your mouse cursor is over the 3d workspace then press SPACEBAR button.

5. Blender will popup new menu, browse to

Add > Mesh > Sculpt Mesh

and left click to confirm.











Unselect SubSurf Option Setting6. Sculpt Mesh Options will popup and ask your to setup detail of sculpted prim.

I recommended you to only unselect Use Subsurf option and then press OK. The default setting is perfect for starter.












Your first sculpt mesh is ready on 3D scene7. The new prim appear in center of your 3d workspace ready for modeling.

    everytime i try to create the basic sculpt mesh, it says “pyton script error ; check console” and i installed pyton just as the previous tutorial instructed, i’m also unable to import a tga, the same error pops up even though the option is there, please help

    Emmmma. Are you have the problem all the time or just happen randomly?

    You got error while import TGA sculpt texture but are you have the problem while you use Bake Texture function (Render > Bake Second Life Sculpties) or Add your mesh (SPACEBAR> Add > Sculpt Mesh) too?

    Please provide more info.

    it happens all the time so far, even though the python script,blender and primstar scripts all were installed fine

    on Domino website his recommend version is still 0.5.0 (while I wrote this) which is the same version using in this tutorial. I think most of 0.9.X are still under development.

    hi,
    I want to create a house, so the shape i want to start with is a cube. But when i add a sculpt mesh, it does not give me that option. Is it not possible to start with a cube as a sculpt mesh?

    It all works like a charm on my Mac like, except one annoying thingie, while making SL-sculpties ;(
    When I: add – mesh – sculpt mesh, the sphere I create always has slightly POINTED POLES! This never happens when I create a “normal” mesh sphere, they always come out perfect. Could anyone please help me out? thanks in advance ;-)

    Reinstall? What a rigorous solution, I was so glad I got the scripts in the right place, and Blender was able to produce SL sculpties and save them.

    I had the same problem as emmmmmma. I’m running Vista 64bit and I fixed it by adding python’s path to vista’s environment variables.

    I can’t seem to find the tutorial on this again, but for me it was a matter of right-clicking “My Computer,” choosing “Properties” and then “Advanced” from the choices on the left. Click “Advanced” again from the resulting dialog, then “Environment Variables.”

    Under “System Variables” scroll to PYTHONPATH. If it doesn’t exist, create it and type something like: C:\Python26[folder where you installed Python];C:\Python26\DLLS;C:\Python26\LIB;C:\Python26\LIB\LIB-TK

    This points blender to all the necessary directories. Make sure the paths are correct for your system! Things in “[]” are my comments. Don’t type ‘em!

    I was just wondering if SLPaolo’s issue was ever solved. I’m running windows7, the latest blender version(32 bit), and have jass 2 installed.

    When I follow these instructions I get very gently pointed poles as well. Here is an example.

    I wanted to let anyone with this issue know, it doesn’t keep me from creating sculpts inworld. I just have another step.

    I manually move the points in a bit to make it a smooth sphere again.
