everytime i try to create the basic sculpt mesh, it says “pyton script error ; check console” and i installed pyton just as the previous tutorial instructed, i’m also unable to import a tga, the same error pops up even though the option is there, please help

  2. Chocolate Lemon says:

Emmmma. Are you have the problem all the time or just happen randomly?

You got error while import TGA sculpt texture but are you have the problem while you use Bake Texture function (Render > Bake Second Life Sculpties) or Add your mesh (SPACEBAR> Add > Sculpt Mesh) too?

    Please provide more info.

  3. emmmma says:

it happens all the time so far, even though the python script, blender and primstar scripts all were installed fine

  4. emmmma says:

hey chocolate lemon i got it working already :) it works when i download the primstar script from your link instead of the newest version link, anyway thanks!

  5. Chocolate Lemon says:

on Domino website his recommend version is still 0.5.0 (while I wrote this) which is the same version using in this tutorial. I think most of 0.9.X are still under development.

    hi,
I want to create a house, so the shape i want to start with is a cube. But when i add a sculpt mesh, it does not give me that option. Is it not possible to start with a cube as a sculpt mesh?

  7. SLPaolo says:

It all works like a charm on my Mac like, except one annoying thingie, while making SL-sculpties ;(
When I: add – mesh – sculpt mesh, the sphere I create always has slightly POINTED POLES! This never happens when I create a “normal” mesh sphere, they always come out perfect. Could anyone please help me out? thanks in advance ;-)

  8. Chocolate Lemon says:

@SLPaolo Some screenshot will be helpful or you could try re-install everything.

  9. SLPaolo says:

Reinstall? What a rigorous solution, I was so glad I got the scripts in the right place, and Blender was able to produce SL sculpties and save them.

I had the same problem as emmmmmma. I’m running Vista 64bit and I fixed it by adding python’s path to vista’s environment variables.

I can’t seem to find the tutorial on this again, but for me it was a matter of right-clicking “My Computer,” choosing “Properties” and then “Advanced” from the choices on the left. Click “Advanced” again from the resulting dialog, then “Environment Variables.”

Under “System Variables” scroll to PYTHONPATH. If it doesn’t exist, create it and type something like: C:\Python26[folder where you installed Python];C:\Python26\DLLS;C:\Python26\LIB;C:\Python26\LIB\LIB-TK

This points blender to all the necessary directories. Make sure the paths are correct for your system! Things in “[]” are my comments. Don’t type ‘em!

  11. zach says:

Oh! And be sure you’re running the 32bit version of Blender.

    Cheers.

I was just wondering if SLPaolo’s issue was ever solved. I’m running windows7, the latest blender version(32 bit), and have jass 2 installed.

When I follow these instructions I get very gently pointed poles as well. Here is an example.

  13. immortalis says:

I wanted to let anyone with this issue know, it doesn’t keep me from creating sculpts inworld. I just have another step.

I manually move the points in a bit to make it a smooth sphere again.

  14. Luna says:

I installed python and primstar. Primstar shows correctly under import and render – though when I try to make a sculpt mesh the window for details is not like the one shwon here. (with Primstar name over it) and I dont get same options. I cant chose Catmul and Multires but only enable or disable subsurf. I have gone ahead anyway and the sphere I got seems to have way less faces the the one in the tutorial infact I could not get a good definied sculpt and when turned in edit mode I noticed the number of point were very few, not as many as the sphere showed in the tutorial.

  15. Chocolate Lemon says:

@Luna I guess you have download and install Primstar from the old tutorial (Primstar 0.50). Yesterday (Aug,7 2010) I have updated all tutorials series to support Primstar1.0 which have much more function as you seen in screenshort.

My suggest is that you should deleted Blender and follow instruction from the first step. Download link to latest Primstar 1.0 are inside that page too.

    Sorry for an inconvenient :-|

  16. corina says:

hi all just incase any of u made the same mistake as me. i too was getting the script error message but it was bcs when i copied and pasted the primstar folder i was copying and pasting it as an open folder, not the actual folder itself, silly me! so erm yeh try that x

  17. Jimmy says:

Was getting the script error as well – turns out Blender is very fussy about what version of Python you have installed. Make sure you have the version Blender specifies on installation, otherwise it wont recognize it. For me, Python 2.6.6 worked under Blender 2.49b.

PS: I also had to set up my environmental variables manually, as per Zach’s post.
